especially unexplored talents and economically less income groups of the fer-western and mid western development regions of the country. We feel pleasure to state that we have benn pioneering engineering education in mid western and fer-western region. Since its inception in 2057 B.S. (2000 A.D.) as the first and only engineeeing collage in the two regions,we initally started bachelor of coumputer engineering (BE computer ) under afffiliaftio of pokhara university.The marvellous response by the potential students and entire cumminity encouraged us to extend further courses.

GOAL AND OBJECTIVE

The goal of NAST is to establish itself as the technological and managerial hub of the country. NAST has set the following objects to achieve its goal.

·         Exploring  potential talents in the mid and for western development regions of the country.

·         Providing affordable and quality education at global standards.

·         Producing highly competent and skilled bureaucrats teachnocrats and efficient managers as to meet the challenger of the space Age.

·         Establishment of institutional linkage and collaboration with the regional, national and international institutions involved in the fields of research and development in different areas of science , technology  and management.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITES

 The multifaceted  growth of the students is only possible when teaching learning activities are backed up by different co-curricular activities like games, cultural programmes, excursions, exhibitions, role play and so on. NAST involves the stuents in the these activities for overall individual  development and personality. The students are divided into 5 houses such ass Windows, Linux, Machintosh sun solarzive and Netware for the inter house competition.

CODE OF CONDUCT

NAST is strongly committed to  and upgrade moral character of its students. Hence, the students admitted in the collage have to abide by the rules and regulations strictly. They have to be aware of the disciplinary areas especially regarding the , timing, regularity in the  classes ,obedience to the teachers, staff and elders, seriousness towards study and hardwork, courtesy in speech and behavior,cleanliness, simple hair cutting makeup and institutional property safety measures. Any kind of communicative equipments weapons, tobacco products, harmful drugs or other objectionable items are strictly prohibite inside the college promises. Minimum 80% attendance in theory and practical classes is compulsory. Those who fail to fulfil this condition or poor academic performance will be sufficient cause to mark NQ.

UNIFORM

College uniform includes black trousers with and tripped sky shirt (as indiacated by college), black shoes, black tie, ( provide by the college). Black sweater, black coat will be preferred in winter season.


Offered programe in NAST

1.BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLIOCATION (B.C.A)

 Bachelor of Computer Application is a four year technical academic programme which bachelor degree in the faculty of science and technology. The normal duration of Bachelor of Computer Applications programmed is four years (divided into 8 semesters). The course is supplemented with laboratory on grounds of state-of-art-computing systems.

ELIGIBILITY

Students who have passed intermediate or 10+2 equivalent examination in any discipline scoring at least second division marks with mathematics or computer science or both optional subjects.

OBJECTIVES

The prominent Objective of B.C.A. are:

·         To provide highly qualified professional well equipped with both theoretical and practical         knowledge in computer systems and its application.

·         To produce fully skilled and trained manpower capable of solving the software problems,           discovering software solutions related to different organizations

·         To provides in depth knowledge of specific sub-disciplines chosen by the students in the areas of their special interest through elective courses.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

B.C.A. is an academic programmed designed to produce technical human resources lanced with required management skills. Business Environment and organizational system are now changing drastically. This, along with a continuous development information Technology, spurs the level-lasting job opportunities for B.C.A. graduates in the field of business, finance, insurance, manufacturing, non-government, government, MNCs and information Centers. From data processor to high ranked officials in different firms, the graduates from NAST are successfully proving their talents and skills learned during their academic period In home and at tough competitive market in aboard as well.

FURTHER STUDIES

Students with a degree of B.C.A. are eligible to study in the faculties related to the management and information technology all over the world for further studies, such  as M.C.A. ( Master of computer Application), M.Sc It ( Master of science in  Information Technology, M.B.A. (Master of Business Administration),  M.B.S (Master of business studies) and others.

2.BACHELOR OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING (B.E. COMPUTER)

Bachelor of Computer engineering is a four year technical academic programmed          awarding a degree of engineering in computer science. A solid background of science and brilliant mathematics is emphasized in any faculties of engineering and so does B.E. Computer. The normal duration of B.E program is four years (divided into 8 semesters). The courses are supplemented with laboratory practices with state of the art of computing systems.

ELIGIBILITY

 Students who have passed 10+2 science, intermediate of Engineering or equivalent examination with at least second division marks in aggregate.

OBJECTIVES

The prominent objectives of B.E. (Computer) are:

     1.  To provide students  the fundamental knowledge and skill to develop them as a high quality            engineer and advanced researcher standing among the 21^st century’s info-based society.

   2.  To produce technical manpower for the development of nation and to produce high class      infavour of country and country’s development fully skilled and trained manpower to solve      software problems, discover software solutions for different business related organization.

   3.To provide in-depth knowledge of specific sub-disciplines chosen by the students as areas of    special interest in the form of elective courses.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Computer Engineering are employed essentially in all areas of industry, government sector, education sector, banking, multinational sectors, NGOs, INGOs etc…. They serve as customized application developers. Systems analysts, net work administrators, software engineering and database administrators, and involve themselves in the process of solving problems.

FURTHER STUDIES

B.E. graduates can proceed to pursue master level studies in computer Engineering, Information and communication, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration and other areas.
